Specification:
- 3-ply or 4-ply fingering weight
- 50% cotton 50% acrylic

Three or four strands are held together while winding and are not spun together or twisted. Colours are changed at set rates and attached by a tiny knot, creating long slow changes of colour. Perfect for various projects, from scarves and blankets to ponchos and sweaters.
The centre pull balls may be worked from either the centre or the outside. Knots are very secure and ends may be clipped or worked into the fabric. They will virtually disappear into the fabric.

I have created a custom yarn cake (ombre but very similar tones) from four shades of red from a slightly pink red, to classic fire engine red (Christmas red) to darker red and burgundy. The yarn is very pretty, I know its quality as I have done several projects with it and know it works for me. I would certainly recommend it as choosing the colours was lots of fun and it is not difficult with respect to setting up your online order. It was very exciting experience to see and work with my own design yarn. It also costs the same as pre-selected yarn cake. The only thing that I wasn't sure of was whether the shades of colours will be as those online as in the past I have found some difference in colour intensities (which is obviously affected by various aspects) and there is not a sampler that could be purchased. When I order a premade cake I often wish to know the numbers of the colours so I could use them in the future. Other than that I was very pleased and made a beautiful crochet shawl and the process gave me lots of joy.

I recently bought a 1000m 3ply cake of Pastel Peony. When I realised that I loved the yarn colours I thought I had better order another of the same. I went in to the chat box on the Fantasy Yarns website and after chatting about what I was planning to do Jakub suggested building my own cake with the 4 colours which are in Pastel Peony but I could also blend other colours in as well.each cake of yarn is made to order so I feel that I am making a truly unique item. Postage was really quick, nicely packaged and the centres are all marked with a tag to say the order to use or a pretty heart charm. Well worth the money and such nice people too. I'll be back for many more!
